ABOUT THE SOUTHERN KITCHEN

The Southern Kitchen was started by Richard, a South West Londoner with a passion for the unique flavours and style of American Southern cooking.  Having spent the majority of his career in the travel industry he decided to turn his love of entertaining into a new career in catering. 

Richard's love of the American South started 25 years ago when a student in Farmville, Virginia, in the heart of the region, he was blown away by the relaxed way of life, warm hospitality and the exciting, varied and delicious cuisine. Forget the cliched images you might have about American food – burgers and hot dogs, we’re looking at you! – real Southern food is one of the most diverse cuisines out there. From soulful vegetables and one-pots to slow-smoked BBQ and summer salads, it's vibrant, seasonal and intensely flavoured.

Now 5 years in, and going from strength to strength, The Southern Kitchen, has set the highest of standards with a reputation in catering for a wide range of events with its outstanding flavours and stellar service

At The Southern Kitchen we specialise in delicious, home-style cooking for both indoor and outdoor catering and events. Be it small gathering, milestone birthday or work party, our family-style dishes will help make it an event to remember!

Based, in London's Tooting, we operate across London, Surrey, Kent, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire.
